Is Common Core good for Science?

The video above is courtesy of PBS Newshour with Gwen Ifill. In many states that are using the Common Core standards, new requirements for teaching science are slowly working their way into the curricula. The new requirements push hands-on educational methods and experimentation over the memorization that has become a staple in many science programs across the country. This shift makes us wonder if Common Core is good for Science afterall…even if we know and have seen how bad it is for math and language studies. Are you a parent of a child in a common core state? Is your state adopting the new standards? Let us know.
